On June 14th, Headwaters VISTA, Alex Beer, led a stream education lesson during the Cowan Creek Summer Art Camp. The theme of this year’s camp was nature and endangered species. While making beautiful artwork all week long, campers learned about about nature, endangered species, and environmental stewardship.
In connection to the themes of camp, participants took part in macro-invertebrate identification and learned about the characteristics of healthy local streams. Campers were eager to learn and share their personal knowledge of local waterways.
Many thanks to Cowan Community Center for organizing camp and inviting Headwaters to be a part of the fun!
