To round up a very successful year of Watershed Watch, I put together a Powerpoint presentation the shows some of our findings for the year for Letcher, Knott, & Perry counties. This was presented at the potluck on November 17th, but for folks that weren’t able to make it here’s a look at the data from the headwaters of the North Fork of the Kentucky River. This presentation takes a look at some of the worrisome results and gives a list of best and worst sites based on this year of sampling.
2006 KRWW Results for Letcher, Knott, & Perry counties (4.9mb, .ppt file)
Please download it and if anything’s not clear please feel free to email letcherwater @ gmail.com
On January 27th, 2007 the basinwide Kentucky River Watershed Watch conference will be held (in Midway, KY i think) that will show how these East Kentucky results fit in with the river basin as a whole.
Big thanks to the dozens of samplers that took time out of their weekends to get these samples and help us understand the state of Kentucky’s waterways.
