Headwaters is pleased to welcome Garth Adams as the next AmeriCorps VISTA to serve the organization. Adams will be serving in the capacity of Community Program Coordinator. He will lead community engagement and education efforts surrounding watershed health and work on local efforts targeted towards community well-being and watershed improvement.
Adams is a 2008 graduate of Letcher County High School and looks forward to fulfilling this role as he holds his community in high regard and takes pride in where he’s from. Growing up in southeastern Kentucky has given him a sense of love and respect for people, nature, and local waterways. Along with this, previous volunteer work with river cleanups and environmental programs has helped him realize that changes need to be made to improve and preserve our water. He feels that this position with Headwaters provides him with an opportunity to make a positive impact on his community.
