June has been an exciting and busy month for Headwaters, with a number of activities occurring. Recently, team members have participated in the National River Rally in South Carolina, participated in outreach programs through summer camps, as well as continuing to work on the ‘What’s your water story?’ project. We also had a strong showing at the Seedtime on the Cumberland Festival, with plenty of photos coming soon!
Coming up in the near future, we have:
- Summer Camps: Working with a number of different educational organisations to provide education about watershed management to students of all ages.
- KRWW Testing: Water sampling for the Kentucky River Water Watch program around Letcher County.
- ‘What’s your water story?’ campaign: Tell us your water story, whether it’s about your experiences with the water system, or how water quality has specifically affected you. Let us know!
- National Rural Assembly: The Headwaters team will be attending the National Rural Assembly in Minnesota.
Let us know if you want to be involved in any way! Volunteers are always welcome, and you can sign up for our mailing list here.
