This week Headwaters participated in the Career Fair for 8th graders held at the Whitesburg KCTC campus. Students learned about potential careers and employers in the area. Garth Adams, Headwaters AmeriCorps VISTA, and Alex Beer, Watershed Coordinator, detailed Headwaters as an organization, shared volunteer opportunities, and discussed work in the field of water resources management and environmental stewardship.
This was a great opportunity to share the work of Headwaters and encourage students to become involved in watershed improvement efforts. We had a great time talking to the respectful and interested 8th graders from schools throughout Letcher County. Many thanks to Ron Brunty for inviting us to participate.
