Water Testing Training

One of the major efforts of Headwaters is water-quality monitoring. This is largely carried out through Kentucky River Watershed Watch, a basin-wide organization that facilitates water testing training and stream water sampling among volunteers throughout the Kentucky River watershed. Headwaters and KRWW are currently seeking volunteers to help with water sampling efforts.

If you are interested in becoming certified to test water to learn more about a nearby creek or river, please join us in an upcoming training. This water sampling training will be held at:

Red Bird Mission, Dorm Road, Queendale, KY on Monday, May 6th from 5:00 to 7:30 pm.

Pre-registration for this training event is required by April 29th. If you are interested in attending please contact JoAnn Palmer at 502-782-7032 or joann.palmer@ky.gov. You can also contact Tracy Nolan at 606-598-0520 or tnolan@rbmission.org.

If you are unable to attend this event but you would like to become a water sampler or involved in local water stewardship efforts, please contact Alex Beer at alex@kyheadwaters.org.
